Her Excellency Haznah Md. Hashim, High Commissioner of Malay​​sia to the People's Republic of Bangladesh, attended as Chief Guest of the Certificate Awarding Ceremony on completion of a short course namely "Waste-to-Energy Technologies for Sustainable Municipal Solid Waste Management" organised by Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) Department on 01 July 2022 on the campus of the University at Board Bazar, Gazipur.

Mr. Amir Farid Abu Hasan, Counsellor/Head of Chancery, Mr. Mohd Aszuan Abd Samat, First Secretary (Political), Mr. Mohd Irham Ab Mokhti, First Secretary (Consular) and Mr. Fahros Faiz Roslan, Third Secretary (Admin & Finance) were also present at the event.

The visitors were warmly received by Professor Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Omar Jah. Pro Vice Chancellor, Deans, Heads of department and office and staff members.

The three-day long-short course was attended by professionals from academia and industries, among others.

During Her Excellency’s visit, she handed over a cheque against the mandatory contribution of the Malaysian Government to the budget of IUT for the financial year 2022.

T​​he Vice Chancellor expressed his deep gratitude to the Government of Malaysia for their continued cooperation and support to the University since its establishment.
