On August 20, 2023, the campus of the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) had the privilege of being visited by H.E. Yerlan Baidaulet, Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) in Kazakhstan, a specialized organization established by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

During the visit, discussions were held between H.E. Yerlan Baidaulet and key members of the University community, including Professor Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of IUT, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mahbub Alam, Head of the International Affairs and External Communication (IAEC) Office, and Prof. Dr. Shakil Mohammad Rifaat, Chief of Establishment (In-charge) at the Establishment and Cabinet Office of the University.

The Vice-Chancellor provided an overview of the university's various academic and developmental initiatives, highlighting IUT's role in enhancing human resources within both member states and the host country. H.E. Yerlan Baidaulet acknowledged and commended IUT's significant contribution in these endeavors.

​​The Director General of IOFS has expressed willingness to collaborate with IUT in jointly addressing food security and digital agricultural research. This collaboration aims to drive sustainable development within the Muslim Ummah, reflecting a shared commitment to tackling crucial challenges.

Mr. Fuad Bin Nazrul, Lecturer at Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) of the University and Mr. Abdula Manafi Mutual, Senior Liaison Officer at the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), were also present at the meeting.
