Privacy Policy Statement

IUT is deeply committed to protecting the privacy of its students, and as a result does not sell or distribute any information obtained from our visitors to third parties.

The following policy defines how IUT collects information from our visitors and how it is used.

Personally Unidentifiable Information

In order to develop targeted content for IUT visitor, we collect personally unidentifiable information such as: your browser type and version, the operating system of the computer you are viewing the site on, the Internet Service Provider you use to connect to the Internet and which pages on the site you access during a visitor session.

IUT web site also employs "cookies" which allow us to better tailor the content of the web site to your specific browsing needs. The cookies used on IUT site contain no personally identifiable information unless you provide that information directly to us via a site form, survey or other opt-in method. While you do not have to have cookies enabled to browse IUT site, specific site features may require that cookies are enabled.

There are features of IUT site that allow us to collect personally identifiable information. IUT only collects personally identifiable information when you provide it to us, such as when you fill out a form, application, or opt-in subscription to a newsletter. Certain site features may require the personally identifiable prior to use.

There are cases where we may request/or provide personal information such as userID, password, or home address. To better ensure your privacy in these instances, all of this information is stored behind a password protected area.

The collected information is used for internal purposes and may be used to improve the content of IUT website. It is not shared with other organizations to help them contact visitors. However, IUT reserves the right to use the information to contact visitors for marketing purposes.

A number of IUT pages contain links which may take you outside of our Web site. Any content presented on these remote sites is beyond our control. These other sites may send and receive cookies, collect data, or solicit personal information and may use this information in ways IUT does not in accordance with its privacy policy statement. Always be aware of whose site you are visiting. Inclusion of external links does not indicate endorsement by the University.

As an IUT site visitor, keep in mind that whenever you give out personal information online (i.e. via chat) that information is in the public domain and can be used by others that have access to that information in ways that are not in accordance with this privacy statement. IUT assumes no responsibility over information that a visitor shares directly or indirectly with any other visitor.

While IUT strives to protect its users' personal information and privacy, it cannot guarantee the security of any information you disclose online and you do so at your own risk. However, IUT does reserve the right to remove any materials that are not consistent with university policies.

IUT policy does not extend to anything that is inherent in the operation of the Internet, and therefore beyond our control, and is not to be applied in any manner contrary to applicable law.

IUT reserves the right to make changes to this policy at any time without notice to visitors. All changes will be publicly posted on this page of IUT web site and accessible via a link from most pages of IUT site. Feel free to check this page periodically for amendments/updates.
