Medical Center

The medical centre is located at the North-west corner of the campus (adjacent to laundry house). First aid and other medical treatment facilities are available in the medical centre. A resident senior medical officer is available for consultation during working hours and afterward. In case of emergency the resident doctor can be contacted at his residence inside the campus. One stand-by ambulance is available for use of the patients. Beside the resident doctor, there is a part-time medical officer who is also available on specific dates and time.

The University has arrangements with two hospitals i) Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital, Eskaton, Dhaka, ii) Women Medical College and Hospital, Uttara, Dhaka for the treatment of the patients who need hospitalization. In case of hospitalization, the students are entitled to free treatment in the general ward of these hospitals. If any one avails any higher accommodations (cabin) in the hospital, he himself will bear the difference over his entitlement and settle the same with the hospital before release; For this, advance payment to the hospital may be necessary. In case of non-payment of hospital bill by the student beyond his entitlement the same will be realized from his monthly pocket allowance. Students are advised to consult with the IUT doctors for their medical problems. They must take prior written permission, referral from the University doctor before going to an outside medical specialist or hospitalization. Students will not get medical facilities or reimbursement of bill for their medical treatment outside the campus except during training programmes officially arranged for them and in case of emergency / accident within the vicinity of the University. All prescriptions and receipts must be on prescribed forms. Further information may be obtained from the University medical officer.
