Discipline Islamic University of Technology is the symbol of Islamic Solidarity and Joint Islamic Action. This is a melting pot where differences will diminish, brotherly feeling will flourish and ideals of Islam will prevail. It is therefore imperative that the students coming from various Member States spreading over four continents and having varied cultural background will have a harmonious life at the University leading towards a perfectly disciplined environment which is a prerequisite for an educational institution of excellence. The authorities will therefore expect every cooperation from all the students for maintaining law, order and discipline. If, however, any misguided student is found guilty of any misbehaviour, disobedience, insubordination, misconduct, or of negligence to his academic duties or if his acts appear disrespectful towards the authorities, teachers and other staff, fellow students, members of the public, rules and regulations of the University or towards the tenets of Islam, strict disciplinary action will be taken against him in the form of warning, imposition of fine, expulsion for a specific period or expulsion for good from the University and/or dormitory, or in any other prescribed form depending on the magnitude and nature of the offence and as directed by the authorities. In the past strict disciplinary action such as expulsion for good and for a certain period, imposition of fine and warning had to be resorted to on certain occasions because of serious breach of discipline by some students. Formation of students’ association is prohibited under the Academic Regulations of IUT. All the students are therefore asked to refrain from forming any association and not to participate in any such illegal activity. However, the authorities of the University strongly believe that in future harsher disciplinary measures will not be necessary as students, trainees and all concerned will work together to develop a harmonious relationship conducive to study, research and development leading to the service of the Islamic Ummah.
