As a result of keen interest and personal sustained efforts of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. M. Anwar Hossain, IUT has signed three Memorandums of Understanding (MOU), one with the University of Sudan (SUST) and the other two with Concordia University in Montreal, Canada and Dublin City University (DCU) in Ireland since the last convocation. Prof. Dr. M. Anwar Hossain signed these MOUs on behalf of IUT. Another MOU with Laval University in Quebec City, Canada is in the process of finalization. These MOUs, together with others signed earlier will go a long way in establishing fruitful cooperation and exchange of staff and students with OIC countries and beyond.

Chairman H.E. Dr. Mohd. Yusof Ahmad, with Members at the 26th Meeting of the Governing Board

Last year, the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) celebrated Two Decades of HRD and its foundation laying ceremony with a number of programmes. This year, similar programmes were in place. These included a series of seminars by eminent scholars, a debating competition, blood donation programme and various exhibition matches including those between staff and students of IUT. It is a matter of great pleasure to announce that this year a record number of about 222 students will be graduating. They come from 15 OIC member countries and are expected to receive degrees and diplomas from different academic programmes.

By the grace of Almighty Allah, IUT has successfully completed in time sixteen academic years with sixteen convocations graduating a few hundred students from OIC countries. This achievement has been possible because of moral and material support from the OIC countries, guidance of the Chancellor and Secretary General, untiring efforts of our Vice Chancellor and hard work of committed academic and non-academic staff and students of the University.

On the occasion of the 16th Convocation, all IUT staff and students again thank Prof. Dr. M. Anwar Hossain, Vice-Chancellor for his selfless efforts, kind patronage and able guidance.
